Antique Restored Grandfather Clock 8-day antique refurbished longcase grandfather clock. Circa 1840Lovely looking Longcase clock with eight day duration which strikes each hour on a cast bell . The case made of mahogany with with the square ppp trunk door having lovely figuring and ebonised edges the trunk with canted corners linked with line inlay and locking door with key. The trunk with mahogany banding top and bottom the whole with fruitwood line inlay is a very nice touch. The flat top hood with nice fluted mahogany columns complete with nice brass capitals to the top and bottom with a flat top and removable swan neck top finished off with a brass finial The clock standing 79.5 inches high,to the top of the flat top and 85.5 with the swan neck and brass finial with a width of 18.5 inches at the widest part with the trunk width being just 14 inches wide is a very nice proportioned clock The movement has recently had a complete strip down clean and oiled with new gut lines, the case been restored to bring it back to it’s former glory all is in good working order and ready to display in the home ,and requires no further restoration . The white arch painted dial fitted with nice period hands with working calendar and second sweep hand. With Moseley Swansea painted on ( see sheet attached on the back of the door gives more info on Jacob Moseley) Complete with 2 weights pendulum and winding crank key. The trunk with canted corners and inlaid line detail is very nice, the hood with nice turned fluted columns complete with nice inlay design with brass top and bottom with a flat top and a nice and led regal top complete with a nice brass finial. The clock standing 87.5 inches high including the final which can be removed,with a width of 19 inches at the widest part with the trunk width being just 14inches wide is a very nice proportioned clock The movement has recently had a complete strip down clean and oiled with new gut lines, the case been restored to bring it back to it’s former glory all is in good working order and ready to display in the home ,and requires no further restoration. The fantastic white arch painted dial is in excellent condition, with E Johnson of Derby painted on the dial together fitted with nice period hands.
